Croydon rubbish tip van rules.

Have the use of a van and want to take rubbish to either Factory Lane
or Fishers Farm? There are some rules which may stand in your way.
These are the exclusions.

  • any vehicle over 3.5 tonnes max gross weight
  • any vehicle over 5 metres in length
  • any ‘Luton’ style box vehicles (including any high sided vehicles)
  • any vehicle with more than four wheels
  • any tipper trucks or false sided vehicles

So that means even if you could use a man and van you can’t use any
of the lwb or Luton vans.

transit or luton van?

If you have more than three pieces of furniture i normally advise you book the Luton van.If boxes and bags then the transit is normally big enough. Please note the transit and the Luton van both have a maximum weight of 3.5 tonnes.Because the Luton is heavier  it cannot take as much weight as the transit. E.g. we were asked to take four pallets each weighing 400kg.We could fit all four into the Luton but it would be over weight. This would need two trips whether you book the Luton or transit so on this occasion we suggested the customer book the long base transit and save £10 per hour

Luton van in Croydon £40 per hour

Picking up in Croydon it took 2.5 hours to complete with customer helping.
Corner sofa and two beds to Attic storage in Bow.Attic is behind the
Screwfix shop.Total price £100.Corner sofa was the large 5 piece type.
Would have been too much even for the transit van and too far to risk the
chance of two trip.Unfortunately the well positioned snack shop has dented
my diet.
